Hi everyone! I'm Attila from I study at the Technical University of Budapest. Recently, I study in Germany as an Erasmus student. I prepare my Master thesis in Bochum. My hobbies are swimming and football, furthermore I like traveling, getting to know new cultures and people, in the meantime shooting photos to record special moments. I used to be a professional swimmer when I was at high school and I've won several medals, but thereafter admission to uni, I've chosen science. :)
I also like cooking special meals. My mum makes the best Hungarian Gulyas in the world, which is one of my favorite. Down here you can find the recipe of it. Have a great cooking and "Jó étvágyat" as Hungarians say before eating... Bon Appetite!
Well, my mum's Gulyás recipe is the following:
Originally, the traditional Gulyás is made of beef.
So, the ingredients:
0,5 kg beef or pork stew meat, cut into small cubes
(you can mix them, if you like),
0,3 kg greens for soup,
0,5 kg potato,
1 piece of red onion,
1/4 teaspoon salt, (it's up to your taste)
1 tablespoon red paprika,
1/4 teaspoon caraway seed,
1 piece of bay leaf,
2 teaspoon oil,
about 1 litre water,
2 tablespoon snipped parsley,
1 piece of tomato and green paprika.
Preparing:
In an oven cook meat and onion in hot oil until meat is brown. Please, add the water, tomato , paprika, salt, greens and caraway seed. Cover, simmer 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours.
Meanwhile, cut potatoes into small pieces. Add potatoes, sauerkraut and parsley to skillet. Cook, covered, about 20 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Cook, uncovered, 10 minutes more or until mixture is thickened and most of the liquid is evaporated.
Voila! You are ready. :) But that's all about cooking. :)
