"Art, in it's many forms: Painting, Pictures, Poetry, Paragraphs, and especially MUSIC are the reason that I was born, I believe. It is the surest way to ease someone's suffering half way across the world; to sing for them, or give them a painting or a poem, rather than to be at war with them.
I guess that I am obsessed with all of the people on this earth. I love to study languages so that I can speak to many different people, in their own language. I am lucky enough to have lived in New York City, Las Vegas and Los Angeles and even a spot in London. But perhaps it is more than luck, I believe that "Luck" is God's nickname.
I have an intense respect for different people's creativity and cultures, and how they express THEIR art. What a great thing it is to live now, that we can know each other more, that we can all be "citizens of earth."
Stairway to Secrets was very fortunate to see Jeanne in a live performance. Not only does Jeanne have an outstanding voice, pure tone quality and beautiful range, but she has the ability to sing with such feeling and depth that she can mesmerize an entire audience.
The well known pianist, Arthur Schnabel, when asked what made him a great pianist, said: "The notes I handle are no better than many pianists. But the pauses between the notes? Ah, that is where the art resides!" Jeanne Madsen, along with her pianist, knew where to put the pauses. Perhaps we need more pauses in our lives for true reflection and greatness!
Jeanne's training and performances indicate we have a rising star in our midst. She has a strong desire to reach out to the world. It is not surprising, therefore, that she speaks at least 5 different languages.
